Project Summary |
HOME/WORK VILLAGEは「みんなの”やりたい”を集める実験的コモンズ」をテーマに旧池尻中学校を多目的カフェ, コワーキングスペース, チャレンジショップなどの機能が入った複合施設にリニューアルするプロジェクトです。
旧池尻中学校は閉校後〜2022年5月までは「IID 世田谷ものづくり学校」の活動拠点として使われていました。その頃、敷地内の樹木や草花は有志で集まったチーム「ミドリノ」さんによってお手入れされていたという歴史があります。既存の樹木や学校時代のダスト舗装を活用したりなど、可能な限りランドスケープを継承し、植物と人とまちの関係をつくる都市の新しい入会地としてのみどりを育んでいきます。
Under the theme of 'An experimental commons for everyone's passions,' the HOME/WORK VILLAGE is a project that breathes new life into the former Ikejiri Junior High School, transforming it into a vibrant complex featuring a multi-purpose cafe, coworking space, challenge shops, and more.
Following its closure as a school, the facility served as the base for the 'IID Setagaya Monozukuri School' until May 2022. During that era, the trees and plants on the grounds were lovingly cared for by a volunteer team called 'Midorino.' By preserving the landscape as much as possible—such as utilizing the existing trees and the original schoolyard gravel—we will cultivate a green space that acts as a modern urban commons, fostering meaningful connections between plants, people, and the city.
