Midori no Minwa is a podcast where we learn about greenery from a wide range of perspectives and have thoughtful, lively conversations about it.

Greenery is all around us in our daily lives, yet precisely because it is so familiar, we sometimes forget to pay attention to it. Our three hosts share the fascinating things they’ve come to know about greenery, exploring it from all sorts of angles. From plants and people to language, customs, and tools, we bring you a wide variety of stories related to the world of greenery.

Why not lend an ear to  Midori no Minwa —a podcast that shares the wonders of greenery with the present and carries them into the future?

Meet the Hosts

Yoshiki Mishima

Born in Hachioji, Tokyo. A landscape designer and the representative of FOLK, Inc. He also serves as a board member of the Social Green Design Association and Shimokita Gardening Club. He first met ayabun at university, and later met Izumidani in Shimokitazawa. His current favorite plant is Japanese silver grass growing along roadsides.

Tomofumi Izumidani

Born in Kochi Prefecture. His interest in the earth, sparked during his university years studying architecture, led him to venture into the world of landscape design. His current favorite plant is a little loquat tree he is growing from a seed taken from a wild loquat he ate on Teshima Island in Kagawa Prefecture.

ayabun

Born in Hiroshima Prefecture. After sharing a dream with fellow host Mishima, somehow ended up co-creating a podcast with him, unexpectedly embarking on a new adventure as an anonymous host. Aiming to make greenery more enjoyable and a bigger part of our culture, ayabun continues to stumble over words during recordings. Their current favorite plant is white clover.
